Timothy Ma is Co-Founder and Chief Legal Officer of k-ID, the global compliance platform helping developers and digital platforms deliver safer, age-appropriate experiences across markets.

Timothy leads k-ID’s legal and regulatory strategy, translating fast-changing rules on youth safety, privacy, age assurance, and online platform design into practical product infrastructure.

Before k-ID, he was Head of International Privacy and Data Protection at Tencent, where he helped build the company’s international privacy function and advised on global product compliance. Earlier, he practiced law at leading international firms including Paul Hastings and O’Melveny & Myers. Timothy is CIPP/E and CIPM certified and previously served on the IAPP Asia Advisory Board.
