Dr. Pauline Luk

Dr. Pauline Luk is a Senior Lecturer in the Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit and the Bau Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education at the LKS Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. She is a multidisciplinary medical educator whose work spans medical humanities, medical education, and health communication.
She holds a PhD in Communication and New Media from the National University of Singapore. Her educational innovations include game-based learning sessions on health inequalities and a game-based history-of-medicine walking tour.
As an education scholar, she has led Teaching Development Grant projects on student-directed learning, gamification, and student–teacher partnerships, with their impact disseminated through presentations, publications, and collaborations with community partners. She also mentors students in award-winning projects and works closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and local NGOs across disciplines.
In recognition of her teaching excellence, she received the Faculty Teaching Medal in 2024 and was highly commended in the Most Innovative Teacher of the Year category at the Times Higher Education Awards Asia 2026.
