Track B: Pushing New Boundaries

As creative and technology industries evolve at unprecedented speed, higher education institutions are increasingly being challenged to move beyond purely theoretical learning and toward more industry-connected, experiential models of education.

Bringing together educators, researchers, ecosystem builders, and innovation leaders from across Asia, this panel explores how universities can better bridge academia with industry through curriculum design, interdisciplinary collaboration, applied research, internships, incubators, and real-world project-based learning. Speakers will share perspectives from game design, innovation, entrepreneurship, systems thinking, and digital media education, examining how institutions can prepare students not just academically, but professionally and creatively for rapidly shifting industries.

The conversation will also unpack the growing role of universities as ecosystem connectors — bringing together students, researchers, startups, corporations, and public sector partners through capstone projects, industry partnerships, and innovation platforms. Through cross-regional case studies and lived experiences, the panel invites audiences to rethink what meaningful, future-facing higher education can look like in an increasingly interconnected world.
